Alejandra Mendez is a paralegal on the T-visa team at James Immigration Law, where she assists attorneys and clients in the preparation and filing of T-visa applications for individuals who have been victims of human trafficking. In her role, she assists in case development, documentation review, drafting legal documents, and communication with clients, ensuring that each case is handled with care, accuracy, and a trauma-sensitive approach. Born in Bogota, Colombia, with roots in Santander, Alejandra holds a degree in Psychology from the Universidad de los Andes, with specializations in sociology, public administration and law. She has also completed specialized studies in Body Psychology, Praxis and Psychopolitical Liberation, as well as in Humanitarian Diplomacy, which has allowed her to strengthen her knowledge of psychosocial health, social justice and conflict resolution in emergency contexts. Prior to joining the firm, she worked supporting victims of the armed conflict in Colombia, contributing to transitional justice processes and community human rights initiatives. Her interdisciplinary background allows her to approach immigration cases with legal rigor and empathy.
