Alejandra Barreneche
Alejandra Barreneche is a Legal Assistant at James Immigration Law, where she prepares immigration forms, drafts cover letters, and assembles client portfolios with precision and care. She brings experience in document collection and case follow-up, as well as a background as an Immigration Assistant in New Zealand, supporting visa applications in a multicultural setting.

Sara Fajardo
Sara Fajardo-Higuera is a Declaration Specialist on the Humanitarian-Family team at James Immigration Law, where she focuses on helping clients share their stories through clear, compassionate, and compelling written statements. She works closely with individuals facing challenging immigration processes, ensuring their voices are heard and honored.
Sara is an attorney from Universidad de los Andes in Colombia. She brings prior experience in transitional justice and immigration work in Colombia, along with a strong background in human rights, immigration law, and public interest litigation.
Her passion for advocating for vulnerable communities led her to immigration law. When she learned about James Immigration Law, she was excited to join a team dedicated to helping immigrants in need and providing them the chance to change their lives. Natalia Manjarres
Natalia Manjarrés is a Declaration Specialist at James Immigration Law in the Humanitarian Team. Ms. Manjarrés was born in Montelibano, Cordoba, and currently lives in Medellín. She holds a degree in Biological Engineering from the National University of Colombia. Apart from her professional background, Ms. Manjarrés has consistently shown a strong commitment to humanitarian causes and social responsibility, particularly through engaging in volunteering programs with a focus on children and minorities. Along that road, she grew interested in immigration law as she saw it as an opportunity to help others, and decided to join James Immigration Law out of her admiration for the firm’s commitment to helping others. Ms. Manjarrés believes strongly in the value of empathy, considering it a cornerstone in both her professional and personal life. She’s fluent in Spanish, English and Portuguese.

Valeria Chaljub
Valeria Chaljub is a Declaration Specialist at James Immigration Law, where she communicates with our clients and drafts their affidavits and other key documents to prepare T-Visa applications.
She is a bilingual licensed Colombian attorney with a law degree from Externado University. She has a background in insurance, criminal law, and U.S. immigration law and brings valuable experience from both the public and private sectors.
XY was drawn to immigration law by witnessing its profound impact on people's lives, where she discovered a deep sense of purpose in using her legal skills to support individuals navigating the system. She finds fulfillment in having a job that contributes to society and aligns with a larger mission of justice.

Andrea Barrera
Andrea Melo Barrera is a Declaration Specialist at James Immigration Law, where she contributes her clinical and forensic psychology expertise to support individuals through sensitive and often traumatic immigration processes. She conducts trauma-informed interviews to understand each story from the client’s lived experience and collaborates with the legal team to build individualized legal arguments with clarity and care.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and a specialization and Master’s in Legal and Forensic Psychology from Universidad Santo Tomás. She has completed diplomas in forensic psychopathology, criminal law, and child sexual abuse, as well as advanced training in psychological interviewing and therapeutic interventions at Universidad de los Andes.
Andrea has worked with survivors of armed conflict, sexual violence, displacement, and human trafficking, supporting individuals across all age groups. She is deeply committed to helping vulnerable populations through psychological support and meaningful legal processes. Inspired by her immigrant relatives, she brings empathy, active listening, and compassion to her role, creating a safe space where people feel heard, understood, and empowered.

Alejandra Villarraga is a Declaration Specialist on the T Visa team at James Immigration Law. She supports clients in building their personal declarations through active listening, empathy, and care. Ana Garcia
Ana Sophia Garcia is a Declaration Specialist for the T Visa Team at James Immigration Law, where she gathers and transforms clients’ stories into formal declarations that reflect their truth with dignity and care. Guided by the belief that every story matters, she approaches each case with empathy and respect. She holds a Bachelor’s in International Affairs and Peace Studies with a concentration in Conflict Resolution and a minor in Political Science from The George Washington University, as well as a Master’s in Global Development from the University of Leeds. Her academic background and prior work supporting immigrant communities have given her strong insights into conflict-driven migration and the experiences of displaced populations. As a Colombian native who has lived in both the United States and England, she draws from her own immigration journey to advocate for others. She believes that everyone deserves to live free from fear and with dignity. With a strong foundation in human rights and a passion for advocacy, she is proud to support immigrants in their pursuit of safety, justice, and belonging.

Juan Restrepo
Juan Camilo Restrepo is a Declaration Specialist at James Immigration Law. He holds a law degree and is currently pursuing a Master’s in International Human Rights Law at Lund University in Sweden. Since the beginning of his career, he has worked with trauma victims, supporting both individual and collective struggles.
At James Immigration Law, Juan Camilo has over two and a half years of experience in U.S. immigration law, focusing on T Visas for victims of human trafficking. In his current role, he serves as a Declaration Specialist. He believes deeply in the equality and dignity of all people, regardless of nationality or immigration status, and firmly rejects the idea that any human being can be considered “illegal.”
